The Roaring Rapids section of the Peshtigo River is well known for providing outstanding whitewater action and is one of the longest continuous stretches of whitewater rapids in the Midwest with beautiful scenery along the way. In the spring and early summer, melt water and rainstorms swell the river's flow enough to thrill even the hardcore adrenaline seekers. Flows ranging from 300 to 3000 cfs can turn the Class II rapids into Class III to IV rapids. Summer provides plenty of fun rapids but more moderate flows for first time rafters, families and youth groups.
