Whitewater rafting adventures await you with an America Outdoor outfitter on the Bluestone Wild and Scenic River!
Bluestone National Scenic River is preserved as a living landscape that provides an unspoiled experience for visitors and a haven for a variety of plants and animals. The park protects a 10.5-mile section of the Bluestone River in Southern West Virginia. The lower section is suitable for beginning paddlers.
The upper Bluestone River is a popular whitewater run during higher springtime flows. This upper is rated Class III-IV and is for experienced boaters. The lower 10 miles of the "Wild and Scenic River" flow through an 800-foot deep gorge and offer warmwater fishing, whitewater boating when water level permits, and hiking along the river on a trail between Bluestone and Pipestem State Parks. Spectacular views of the river gorge may be seen from overlooks at Pipestem.
