Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness

Located in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness contains a total of 2,366,698 acres, and it is the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 states.  There are many attributes that draw visitors to this area; rugged mountains, steep canyons, gorgeous scenery and abundant wildlife are just some of the many attractions.  Possibly the main attraction to this area, though, is the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.  While the Main Fork also runs through Frank Church, the Middle Fork of the Salmon River has gained world-renowned notoriety for its exhilarating rapids and stunning beauty.
