Boise River

The South Fork of the Boise is a popular day float through a magnificent basalt canyon cut through the prairie with great scenery. The river begins flat and mellow as it flows through a wide desert canyon. After a mile or two, sheer basalt cliffs close in on the banks. Rapids are mostly class II (Easy) to III (Medium), including Raspberry and Devil's Hole, which can be spotted from upstream. After this the river picks up and is a splashy class II-III ride almost all the way to the take-out.
