Big Thompson River

The Big Thompson River begins its course high within the Rocky Mountain National Park.  As it meanders its way down the mountain, it flows through a popular tourist attraction, the Big Thompson Canyon, which is an area of steep rugged cliffs and the water rages through.  Fishing and fly fishing are popular activities on the river, as a high population can be found in the river, especially in the spring and summer months.
