Denali National Park

Denali’s dynamic glaciated landscape supports a diversity of wildlife with grizzly bears, caribou, wolves, Dall sheep and moose. Summer slopes are graced with birds and wildflowers. Visitors enjoy sightseeing, backpacking, mountaineering, and research opportunities. Whether climbing or admiring, the crowning jewel of North America’s highest peak is the awe inspiring 20,320 foot Mount McKinley. RAFTING:

Alaska offers a spectacular array of rafting opportunities, from southeast Alaska to the states interior, from short half day guided river floats to multi day fly in raft trips to Alaska's backcountry. Few locations, however, are more popular for Alaska rafting than Denali National Park. Nearly all raft trips travel the Nenana river which flows to the north through the Alaska range and borders the eastern side of Denali National Park. The Nenana river offers great Alaska rafting adventures, from calm float sections to class III and IV whitewater rafting.

HIKING

Day Hiking in Denali can include anything from a leisurely stroll along a river bar to an adventurous hike to the top of a mountain. Denali for the most part is a trailless wilderness. You will find short trails at the entrance of the park atSavage River and Wonder Lake. If you're looking for more than a stroll, don't worry. Visitors are allowed to hike almost everywhere in the park, over tundra, through the taiga, up river bars, and to the tops of mountains.

FISHING

Lake trout are occasionally caught in Wonder Lake and grayling inhabit some of the clear streams running in the park.
